MTA needs $92B for transit upgrades - The Ticker

A separate estimation by the Citizens Budget Commission calculates that maintenance will cost as much as $115 billion over five years to meaningfully repair and improve the existing system.

The crackdown on fare evasion by the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the New York Police Department is not worth putting people’s lives at risk. On Sept. 15, four people, including two bystanders and a police officer, were shot due to an incident involving fare evasion.
