Jul 2, 2016. #2. Sure in some cases a pole pruner attachment can be substituted for the angle drive head. I do not know the echo line and you did not post any model numbers. I see non extendable Echo pole saws at Lowes 22 to 25 cc or so for not much more than $300. The extendable one is around $600 somewhere else.

The local Tanaka dealer was getting out of selling Tanakas but as it turns out, Redmax uses the same spline, so I bought a new Redmax last year and the Tanaka pole saw fits and works. J.

Mar 24, 2009. #5. Echo i think has a strong shaft extension . Ech has a 5 foot extension that will reach up to 17 feet and they more cutting attachments for theirs. Echo no valves but i have never had a problem with my stihl. I think its realy just presonal prefernce both are good.

Consider the Dewalt Pole Saw 20 volt Max Model DCPS620B. I have Dewalt 20volt max battery and charger for other tools so the pole saw only cost about $139 on ebay.

Inexpensive (about $150 without charger or battery - new on Ebay), light weight (about 8 pounds with 2 sections -you can reach up about 11 feet, all 3 sections, 10 pounds will get you to about 14 feet).
