Ryan Day is fresh off of leading his Ohio State Buckeyes to a National Championship. After fans started calling for his job and even sending him threats following the season-ending loss to Michigan, Day went on an impressive run in the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State fans and dignitaries gathered at Ohio Stadium on Sunday to celebrate the Buckeyes' 2024 national championship run. Ohio State bested Notre Dame 34-23 in the College Football Playoff National Championship last week to win its first crown since 2014 and third since 1970.

Ohio State fans are familiar with Hafley who served as Day’s co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach in 2019. The New Jersey native left the Buckeyes after one season to serve as Boston College’s head coach before leaving for the NFL ahead of the 2024 season.
