Sunshine is back on Tuesday with a few afternoon clouds, but more importantly, highs will climb above freezing for the first time since Friday afternoon in the Denver weather forecast.

Denver’s streak of below-freezing weather is expected to finally break Tuesday afternoon as temperatures climb into the low 40s, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Another round of accumulating snow and colder air is expected to develop across Colorado's mountains, and eventually Denver through the evening on Friday.

Wednesday night will be partly cloudy and cold. Low temperatures will fall to the single digits, which is about 10 degrees colder than normal for this time of year, according to FOX31 Pinpoint Weather Chief Meteorologist Dave Fraser.

After 90 hours below the freezing mark, Denver has finally reached 32 degrees. At 10AM temperatures surged past 32 degrees across portions of the Front Range. This Arctic blast brought downright frigid air to portions of the state with some of the coldest wind chills reported as low as -63 degrees.

Another chilly day is expected Thursday before a slight warmup on Friday. Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Liz McGiffin explains when snow could return to the Denver area this weekend.
