Nov 5, 2020 · To add wireless surround speakers requires a device that you connect to the speaker outputs (needing power) that sends a wireless signal to a paired powered receiver containing an amplifier (usually MUCH less powerful than the AVR) that your surround speakers still need to connect to with speaker wire. They are also usually horrible.

The former would connect to the Denon’s rear channel pre-outputs, and the latter to active speakers, or a remote amplifier for passive (read wired) speakers. Of course all this extra hardware adds expense. You’ll have to decide if the expense is worth the convenience.

Oct 9, 2023 · Wireless speakers are great in theory. Until you try and time it with other speakers to avoid weird delays. Then there's the whole power issue. There is no battery that is going to power a speaker for any reasonable length of time. Look at the Bluetooth portable speakers. You'll get about 12 hours of battery life with mediocre sound.
