Oct 27, 2023 · The scope will add more weight to your handgun compared to a red dot optic if that's a concern. I have both for different shooting situations. I have a 300BO pistol with a red dot Trijcon MRO that I've taken whitetail out to 125 yards that works well. My deer hunting S&W 629, I have a Burris 2 power scope.

I have 2 of them, a 5" 3rd model and a 6 1/2" 2nd model with fixed sights. A nice mild load for the 44 magnum is some Accurate Arms #9 powder over a 240 grain bullet.
