Does the MacBook Pro M1 support DisplayPort 1.4?
2011年5月3日 · I can confirm that my Macbook Pro M1 outputs 4K/60Hz with the Apple AV adapter. The details in 'System Information' look identical to direct output with a USB-C to Displayport cable. However, some devices (eg. my Pixelbook Go) only output 4K/60Hz via Displayport, so this cable remains my preference (using a Caldigit Soho).

2019年12月8日 · Day 1 14" Base M1 Pro MBP. Still working like new. Battery health is 94%. Any upgrade being eyed is to replace the late-2012 27" iMac, not the M1 Pro MBP. Based on Geekbench iOS scores, even a base M4 iMac (assuming Apple continues to not grace us with an Mx Pro iMac), is still a 25-40% bump over my 14" M1 Pro MBP.

2023年3月12日 · There's not a lot of publicly known SoC sub-components in M2 that aren't also in M1. If Apple decides, for instance to make having ProRes Encode/Decode engines a requirement for the operating system due to a fundamental feature, then you might see M1 Macs dropped, while M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2, M2 Pro, M2 Max, and newer keep support.

2022年3月2日 · In fact, if I am remembering correctly, there was a similar experiment done by Linus on the m1 macbook air where I think he applied new thermal pads or something for better contact with the heatsink and the chassis and pretty much closed the gap between the m1 air and the m1 macbook pro.

2021年12月26日 · I’ve been trying to use an M1 Pro Macbook Pro 16” with an HP Omen 27” monitor through a DisplayPort 1.4 to USB C cable. The monitor defaults to a refresh rate of 165 Hz. Whenever I plug it in and the setup is at this refresh rate I see vertical pink and green bars on the image. Sharing a few images below.

2024年10月30日 · MBP 14 Pro M1 Pro - in all honesty that is too much power already for what i do. I do fairly quite more than average user, but hover around 12GB on win and mac laptops. TLDR: I would rather spend these money to see my family or take them on vacation or buy mtb bikes for our outdoor weekends.

That's a "theoretical limit" and I doubt that anyone ever sees it. You MIGHT get upwards of 900MBps. You're more likely to get reads of 800+MBps and writes in the 600-700 range.

2024年1月11日 · This is why I caution anyone buying the m1 MacBook Air if they’re going to keep it more then 3 years. I am wondering if M1 pro/max/ultra will be supported for longer. I know with iPads the X series of chips always received longer support but in the pas with the mac apple doesn’t care about hardware as much as they care about age.
