2018年8月28日 · A trick to any thread sealant (and I no longer use PTFE tape on fuel for reasons mentioned) is to leave the first thread of NPT fittings dry (bare metal. No sealant). This usually keeps the crap out of the pipes. PTFE is a lubricant. Theory is it allows the tapered threads to mesh better, as the fitting can be tightened more.

2012年6月22日 · It isn't any good though and is a quick trip to a reseal. I certainly wouldnt use the 1,2 or 3 on anything to do with fuel and I really cant think of any time permatex 1 is appropriate. For fuel plane old Teflon pipe dope will work best. In any case the best gasket sealant bar none for non fuel use is Permatex's "The Right Stuff"

2017年11月28日 · Nope it sure doesn't. National pipe thread needs a sealant. That was my point. Diesel does require a color for Teflon though. Yellow. Color has nothing to do with what's in the pipe. Use a decent quality tape instead of the cheap junk. I would beg to differ. Yellow Teflon tape is for diesel, oil, natural, or propane gas.
