Lowe's and Home Depot around here do not stock any suitable product and wanted more than that to "order it" for me.

2011年12月29日 · Good for 600-800 deg F. As previously said, doesn't stand up to serious temps. I couldn't find anything that stayed flexible and worked at temps over 800 deg when I installed my chimney pipe. Pipe manufacturer specified 1200 deg sealant for flange at roof but didn't supply it and didn't list a source. Might end up with an epoxy that's NASA quality.

2011年6月28日 · I use a real chimney brush but too cheap to buy 25' of fiberglass chimney brush poles. I use 10' sections of 1/2" pvc pipe. I found that attaching the pipe sections together with union type couplers holds up better than the male/female pipe thread couplers I started with.

2009年6月22日 · A pre fab fireplace chimney will not have a class A chimney pipe. I've got the same thing on my fireplace on the first floor. Its probably double wall pipe with air space. I would line it it to be safe. At that point it might be better than class A chimney. Mine is 10" so lining should be easy. *' will make it a little tight but doable I'm sure.

A piece of clay tile runs out through the block wall of the basement and to the chimney about 1' below ground level, and there is no cleanout on this chimney, I have to shove the shop vac down there after cleaning to suck out the soot/creosote.
