Painted drywall is going to be rather vapor permeable anyways. In my house, the pros put the VP above the steel channel.

Many of these people that replied to you here are saying they have the same characteristics and they don't! Hardibacker doesn't need a vapor barrier or waterproofing except you do need to tape and thinset the joints.

For a floor in the northwest an R-value of 19 to 30 is recommended which is quite a range. But the payback is going to be difficult to calculate and it is likely to be more than 10 years at best.

To try and tape the new barrier to old I would have to remove some soil to expose the underside of the perimeter of the trench to make room for me to try and tape. In some cases I may have to reach 2", 4" or more to get to the old torn edge of the old barrier.

2023年4月24日 · If the space is properly encapsulated all the way to the rim joists, and sealed on the walls and all columns in the space, you won't have a lot of moisture. It will remain under the plastic encapsulation where it runs to a sump pump in the lowest corner. I would not put a vapor barrier on the house's insulation. It now is one space so to speak.
