2017年1月1日 · The Comet system in my store is just under 300 gallons, and in no way has anything to do with the main system. Each tank of feeder fish must always have an airstone in it, and a vacation feeder. These tanks are scrubbed and vacuumed a minimum of once a week. Typically these are going to be the fish that die in large numbers.
Quality of Fish at PetSmart and PetCo?

Fish guy: We have an algae problem in these tanks. Me: Is it the lighting? FG: Yeah, but we can't change them. Me: Most of the plants in the tubes are for terrariums. They're going to die in fish tanks.
PETsmart Now Has 125 and 150 Gallon Tanks
2015年1月16日 · The closest PetSmart to me sells 125-gallon aquariums for $3,209. I ended up just getting the 300-gallon for only a few hundred more. My brother plans on getting one, too. They only had two 300-gallons in stock the day I went.

2016年6月26日 · PetSmart fish are often sickly. If you know what to look for as far as signs of illness go, almost all of PetSmart's tanks will have sick fish. Out of the few dozen small tanks my local PetSmart has, perhaps 95% of them had sick and dead fish one day I went in. As far as their fish go, I rarely buy any from them.

2021年3月6日 · If we see a fish with ich, all the fish in the tank get moved to a sick tank in the back, where they're treated with 1 tbsp per gallon of salt and occasionally Methelyne Blue. If it's just a bacterial or fungal infection, we just move the affected fish to the sick tank. The salt will usually take care of it.

2011年3月8日 · Since, I don't want to subject the fish to a big change in pH I can then adjust the Quarantine tank pH, if needed, before adding the fish. My pH is close to the stores pH now that I have the coral in the filter. Petsmart does dose the water in the bag with Stress Coat. Their store fish, bird and reptile Manager is very knowledgeable and helpful.

2018年11月2日 · Just don't buy from that store. I have gotten lots of fish from all the places above with no problems. If the fish look bad in the tanks just don't get them. Also some complain about how small the tanks are the fish are kept in, but think about it, they are there to sell and be seen not to be in a natural set up.
