Which tarot deck do you think is the most beautiful? I thought I only liked dark decks until I saw the Starchild Tarot.

As you work with your tarot decks and the art pops out at you, which cards and decks do you find the most sumptuous? Right now I am working with the Baroque Bohemian Cats and these four cards especially strike me as being some of the most beautiful cards ever! The Magician, Strength, The Emperor, Queen of Cups (she wins top prize in my eyes!)

Me too! As well as The Chariot, The Moon and Eight of Wands from the same deck! But the 'most beautiful one' -as hard as it is to decide - to me is from another MPR's deck - Tarot of Prague, The Hermit.

Il Meneghello's recent printing of the Modrone (Cary-Yale) deck is hands down the most beautiful tarot deck I have ever seen. I am not ashamed to admit I teared up a little when I opened that box and looked at the cards for the first time. None of the other Visconti-Sforza repros come close to the beauty of this one. The color is breathtaking.

The Ancient Italian Tarot is a widely available, affordable derivative. Soprafino is Dellarocca in 1835, AIT is the Avondo Brothers in the 1880s with similar engraved artwork. The colours and lines are rougher than Soprafino.
