She played the girl next door to the hilt and competed with men and won on the battle of the network stars at the time. She even did records with her brother Jimmy.

I agree McNichol was the better actor, but Tatum was such a fresh-faced beauty at the time, I'm surprised she didn't capitalize on it and work more.
