For gaming, usually running the game itself is the best way to determine how a particular PC will run a game, as each game behaves differently. Video editing? Scripted runs using the editor software of choice.

2023年11月30日 · One of the simple tests I like to run is the benchmark that comes with CPU-Z at the same time as running Furmark. Where those may not be the hardest things you can run, it still puts a load that is fairly unrealistic on the PC for an extended period. Great for seeing what the highest temps you should encounter in normal use.

2013年1月11日 · The two best choices are 3dmark11, or Unigine Heaven. I use both, but mainly use Heaven. The free version of 3dmark11 only allows you to use the performance preset, while the extreme presets are locked (you have to buy the program to unlock it).

2013年11月8日 · Make sure 'Stop the benchmark after" is not checked. I use F11 for Benchmark start and finish, and F12 for FPS overlay. (Doesn't display for me during benchmarking) Note where the data is being logged-although you can just click 'View' and it'll open the Folder for you. I keep "FPS" and "MinMaxAvg" checked. FPS is the more important one.

Even just Google hdd vs ssd vs nvme will show most times that an SSD and NVMe can make little to no discernable difference to games, unless stuck in side-by-side comparison.

2023年5月1日 · Heaven is still ok for measuring performance but it's only a DX10 benchmark. Unigine has released two benchmarks since Heaven. In 2013, the DX11 benchmark called Unigine Valley was released and in 2017, they released the new DX12 benchmark called Unigine Superposition. To date, Superposition is the most strenuous benchmark released by Unigine.
