Compared to other Lego CAD-tools, LDD's strongpoints are that it's extremely easy to get started with. The main critisism used to be the lack of bricks, but with the Extended Mode (see below) this has now been fixed.

About measuring the size of the model, it is easy considering that a classic 1x1 brick have a base of about 0,8 cm and it is almost 1 cm (0,96) high (more considerations here ).
