The earliest appointment I could get the new tires on was two or three weeks out. And, even with an appointment, I was told it could take three hours to mount the tires.

A few years ago, I needed 4 new tires for my SUV. Costco quoted me $900. Discount Tires was $450 but for poor quality brand tires. Walmart Auto Care Center was about the middle at $550 for brand new Goodyears + service. I just went with the slightly pricier Walmart and have had good experiences so far.

First, Costco will only use OEM size tires, for most people this isn't an issue but I have cars that I want different size tires than the OEM size and Costco won't do it. Second, and it's a lesser issue is you need to plan in advance for Costco and it's better to drop the car off and pick it up later.
