2014年3月4日 · The suck factor, however, is the Yellow blade runs $145. Plus, as others have mentioned, the cut line needs shimming/attention IOT true. Not insurmountable. Although the Orange blade that arrived with the Rage 2 blade will sever wood, mild steel, and stainless steel; relegating the Yellow blade for 304/316L is the way to go.

2013年4月15日 · Based on some advice I got from either here or Miller's web site, I found a place selling Freud "Metal Devel" blades. I bought 3, 2 for steel and one for aluminum. I know MK Morse makes a "Metal Devel" that is actually stainless steel but runs about $400 a blade. I could have sworn I paid significantly less that $100 per blade.

I worked a job once where they had a german machine that is made to cut thin wall stainless steel tube- it was incredible. Every cut was perfect.

2012年6月29日 · Ditto, I just cut up x 3' x 24' panel today into 3' x 4' pieces using a 9" steel saw. Only thing you have to watch is that you don't bind the blade when there's only a few bars left. I did mine on benches using the shop crane to hold the cut end but if you had some 2 x 4's on the floor either side of your cuts it'd work great.

2012年7月2日 · Abrasive is the way to cut thin stainless. Stainless will dull the carbide blades very quickly. And on the thin stuff the carbide blades tend to "grab" the material and deform it or fling it across the shop. A disc sander works well for squaring the cut ends, belt sander also works well, but I prefer the disc.

Stainless work hardens when it gets hot, and once it does, dulls your blade instantly. And slow, high torque motors like on a real cold saw cost a lot more money to make.

2019年3月24日 · Some companies make blades specifically for stainless. I took a 4x4 sheet of stainless and made a 15" cube on one blade. I sprayed the blade with WD40 after each cut. I was still able to use the blade on more material after this project. Clamp and support both sides of the cut, steady pressure and spray some lube every once in a while.
