Trying to decide on which tint, leaning towards 15 or 20
I agree 5 is too dark for nighttime driving (I wear contacts and my eyes are not the best lol) I was concerned on going too dark for visibility in general when I got time. Got 20 done on my rear, 35 on front windows, carbon. I would say it's dark 20 is dark enough but if you really want the most privacy without going 5 then 15.

2023年8月15日 — Most 20 percent tints are actually above 20 to compensate for factory glass. 20 isn't a huge difference from 15, and I have 15 all around and 50 on the windshield. It is pretty dark, but in well lit areas it isn't really a problem. Just PLEASE don't get anything close to 20 on your front windshield, stay at 50 or above.

2023年7月27日 — This right here OP.70% tint would never be noticed.50% on the shield gives a nice brightness reduction and some privacy without being obviously tinted. I have 50% on my pickup and love it. 35% is the darkest you'd want to go, and this is very obvious tint (you cant see the driver from the outside looking in). $675 for full ceramic is a great price.

2016年3月30日 — I was also thinking about going slightly lower to 20% while I'm at it. I've been pulled over a bunch of times (speeding mostly) in various states (PA, VA, Maryland) but have never cited for tints. I'm curious how often everyone else here gets pulled over with tints less than 30%. I am planning to get 3m color stable at 20% (good idea or no?).

There are "nano film" tints that are legal tint but keep the heat out of the car. Tint also prevents smash and grab style break-ins by adding a layer to the inside glass so the window does not fall apart when smashed. Co-worker put limo tint on his P.O.S. 1999 Ford Ranger.
