DETROIT - A teenager is facing dozens of charges in connection to a July shooting at a Detroit block party that killed two people and injured 19 others – making it Michigan’s largest mass shooting in recent history.

Demitrus Tiwan Shaw, of Detroit, is charged in the July 7, 2024, deadly shooting that killed two people and injured 19 others.

Authorities were led to Shaw after he was identified as a suspect in a separate nonfatal shooting in May, in which he is also now charged, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. That shooting,
