South Korean conglomerate Hyosung Group plans to double its investment in Vietnam to $8 billion, creating 10,000 jobs, the Vietnamese government said Tuesday after a meeting with the firm's chairman.
South Koreans, who make up Vietnam's largest group of international visitors, mostly spend their money on luxury accommodation and high-end shopping in the country, industry insiders said.
Li came to Vietnam from neighboring Laos, where he had pushed back against calls at a meeting of Southeast Asian leaders to respect international law in territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
