GOMA, Jan 26, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The Democratic Republic of Congo withdrew its diplomats from Kigali as the Rwanda-backed M23 fighters advanced on the key city of Goma in the east of the country.
GOMA: Nine foreign peacekeepers were killed in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, where fighting between the Congolese army and Rwandan-backed M23 fighters intensified on Saturday, officials said.
South Africa’s military said 9 soldiers were killed, with Malawi and Uruguay also reporting deaths. The M23 advance on Goma in the eastern DRC was reportedly repelled.
