Wall Street was on track to open with gains Thursday on another big day for corporate earnings and the latest government economic data. Futures for the S&P 500 rose 0.4% before the bell while futures the Dow Jones Industrial Average moved 0.

Exxon Mobil dropped 2.6%, and energy stocks fell to some of Wall Street's sharpest losses after oil prices tumbled more than 4%. A barrel of Brent crude, the international standard, has fallen back toward $74 from more than $80 last week.

Wall Street is rising back toward its record highs in early trading. The S&P 500 was 0.3% higher early Thursday and approaching the record it set early this week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was adding 95 points,
