Right off 14th Street, outside Orange City, is known for frequent bear visits. Blake Sprout's family added trash can locks to keep the large animal out of their trash and away from their property.

The community rang in 2025 with its own New Year’s Eve Ball Drop on December 31, 2024, at Hurricane Grill and Wings Apopka.

Conrad Road, between Lust Road and the Lake Apopka Loop Trail, will be closed until further notice for contract work.
