Tech billionaire Elon Musk is getting wide pushback in European capitals as he tries to extend his recent political success in other countries.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has hit back at Elon Musk, following a barrage of attacks on his government from the world's richest man. Starmer has joined the leaders of France and Germany in responding to a series of hostile posts by Musk backing far-right political parties and attacking leftwing politicians in Europe.

A journalist said Sunday her X account was suspended and links to a recent article of hers were blocked on the platform after she published a piece debunking online theories that an Elon Musk fan account was actually the billionaire himself.

Musk has also been caught using alt accounts before. In 2023, Musk posted a screenshot of an X account that showed one of his burner accounts. Journalists tracked down the account which used an avatar of Musk’s son and, like Dittmann, would often rush to the defense of Musk. That alt has since been suspended.

At some point after he became aware of the story, Musk's X reportedly banned Sweet's account for a month — allegedly for "doxing," according to Sweet — and she claims that links to the Spectator article about Dittman have been restricted across the site.
