Two more preseason polls have the Texas Tech softball team ranked high, including another Top 10 position for the Red Raiders.

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - On Tuesday, D1Softball released its 2025 Preseason Top 25 Poll. Texas Tech softball came in at No. 13 making them the third highest rated Big 12 team behind Oklahoma State (No. 5) and Arizona (No. 12). Tech was also ranked in Softball America’s Preseason Top 25 Poll at No. 9.

There's much to be excited about for the 2025 college softball season, which runs from Feb. 6 to May 4.  Can Oklahoma complete the nearly impossible and five-peat? Or will the Sooners be dethroned? There are a few old faces who used the transfer portal to get to new places.

Over the past few years, college softball has been lots of things. Eye-popping. Jaw-dropping. But intriguing? Eh. For all the fun and entertainment that the sport has given us, intrigue has been in short supply.

The preseason honors phase of college softball continues to roll along and the Huskers continue to be a participant in the those polls. Last week, it was announced the Huskers are ranked 21st in Softball America’s poll along with five other Big 10 members.
