The family of a woman who died after being pushed into a BART train in San Francisco is suing the agency, alleging BART is responsible for allowing crime at its stations and trains.

"BART, you're on notice. You have to make riders safer." The Dandan family says while the transit agency has made improvements since Corazon's death, there are still more things they would like to see done.

Relatives of Dandan, a telephone operator of over 30 years at Union Square’s Parc 55 hotel, gathered with their legal representatives outside of the Powell Street BART station on Wednesday to announce that they filed their lawsuit against the transit operator late Tuesday in San Francisco Superior Court.

Corazon Dandan was waiting for a BART train at the Powell Street station in San Francisco when she was pushed to her death in the summer of 2024. Now her family is taking legal action against Bay Area Rapid Transit District demanding that the public transit system improve safety for all riders.
