While the Mac mini got its iconic aluminum unibody redesign back in 2010, the original version was first introduced by Steve Jobs all the way back in 2005. At that time, Jobs described it as “very, very tiny” and the “mini” in its name actually comes from the iPod mini.

Apple’s iPad Pro launched this year using the new M4 chip, and the brand’s focus has reportedly shifted toward production of MacBook Air models for 2025, with the Mac Studio subservient for now.

In a report for Bloomberg, leaker Mark Gurman said Apple will soon begin manufacturing 13-inch and 15-inch versions of the M4 MacBook Air, codenamed J713 and J715. Unnamed insiders familiar with the company's production schedule told Gurman that the updated Air will look similar to the current design,

Display shipments are reportedly starting soon for two early 2025 Apple products, the M4 MacBook Air and iPhone SE 4.

Apple's moving all its Macs to the M4 processor – the first batch arrives next week with more coming next year.
