The Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors are rolling out later in the year, introducing improved performance and better protection against malware.

The new Core Ultra 200HX series will be targeted at gaming laptops and should deliver around 5 percent better single-thread performance and 20 percent multithread performance improvements over previous Raptor Lake-H Refresh processors.

Intel unveiled its Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200 desktop chips in October with an emphasis on performance-per-watt, so it’s unsurprising that Intel took a similar approach with its laptop CPUs. The Core Ultra 200U series is particularly efficiency-centric and aimed at thin-and-light laptops, while the 200H and 200HX lines target performance.

So far, we’ve seen Intel Core Ultra 200V impress in thin and light laptops like the Asus Zenbook S14. And now at CES 2025, Intel is taking it to the next level with the debut of 200U for budget-end systems, 200HX for bleeding edge gaming systems, and 200H for a nice middle ground.

Intel has pulled back the curtain on "Arrow Lake" mobile silicon in the U, H, and HX series for the new year, focusing on increased power profiles and less on AI. Plus: "Lunar Lake" gets vPro.
