Super Typhoon makes landfall with sustained winds of up to 125mph, destroying houses and powerlines on its path

A super typhoon has made second landfall on the Philippines' main island of Luzon, with forecasters warning of "life-threatening storm surge", heavy rains and severe winds.

Typhoon Man-yi yesterday slammed into the Philippines’ most populous island, with the national weather service warning of flooding, landslides and huge waves as the storm sweeps across the archipelago nation.
