On her latest street-style outing, Jennifer Lopez blended two of today’s most popular trends.The multi-hyphenate combined balletcore with preppy style while out and about in Los Angeles this past weekend.

The balletcore movement is less about literally looking like the Black Swan, and more so about embodying the understated elegance of a ballerina. Like Lopez did, you can partake in the look by choosing a key accessory, and keeping the rest of the ensemble pared-back. Plié skills are not required.

Lopez hit the streets wearing a black knit sweater tucked into a pair of cropped tapered trousers. Her top featured a couple of pearl buttons and a short scarf tied at the neck, which evoked a sense of formal elegance. To complement her clothes, she wore a pair of pointed sunglasses and carried a small quilted purse with a chain strap.
