Info from Reading site states visitors with Day passes are not permitted to access the campsites nor even to leave to go to their car or the town. They do have security there which includes checking wristbands. I am sure they would wish to discourage people from buying a day pass & attempting to stay over in campsites & re-entering the arena. ( Sorry not making assumptions here! ). I am sure there are legitimate reasons eg meeting friends.
