Hi Thomas, I was there 2 days ago and actually fed the monkeys, they were starving and showing signs of stress. Pacing around the cage from one side to the other, agressively at times. My tour guide gave us a BS explanation as our group showed concerns on the way these animals were treated. He said they were hunters that could shoot them, thus they were in the cages to be "safe". He said they would be released in another island, but there are reviews here from 2015 about these sad monkeys! We spoke with other locals around that showed little concern or desdain for our questions. I made a video of their conditions and hoping to get to local authorities or organizations. PS: To anyone going into the park, please bring fresh food to them.

I have no idea but I heard they were saved from a worse place or are mentally damaged and a danger to others if let loose or in cages with other animals so I think it's the lesser of 2 evils
