This may be a late response but from Rodanthe, you could drive back to Manteo and then head toward Bath, NC. There is a ferry from Bath to aurora. You can check the ferry schedules on …
This may be a late response but from Rodanthe, you could drive back to Manteo and then head toward Bath, NC. There is a ferry from Bath to aurora. You can check the ferry schedules on NC Ferry System website. Note that the ferries are not as frequent as in the outer banks and if I recall, there's a 2 or 3 hour wait in between if you miss one. If you want to stay overnight, I would recommend Oriental NC. It's about 20 miles away on the Pamlico Sound. There are no places to stay in Aurora but you have 4 or 5 options in Oriental as well as some decent restaurants. I have stayed there twice on trips to Aurora.
